IOL Fluorine Chemical Weekly Report: Refrigerant Market Supply and Demand Remain in Tight Balance, Fluorinated Polymer Market Stabilizes Amid Pressure

Refrigerant: Factories are reluctant to sell, leading to a steady rise in prices, with tight supply-demand dynamics for certain products driving price hikes
This week, the refrigerant market exhibited a strong reluctance to sell, with tight supply-demand dynamics and price increases for certain products. Key market characteristics during the week: As the Spring Festival holiday approached, industry production rates remained low, and some factories planned shutdowns during the holiday period. Despite overall subdued trading activity and procurement driven primarily by essential needs, manufacturers maintained a firm stance on price hikes due to their reluctance to sell. The upstream raw material market experienced consolidation, with prices fluctuating narrowly. On the demand side, the steady development of core downstream sectors such as air conditioning, automotive, and cold chain logistics provided solid support for refrigerant demand. Additionally, the explosive growth in refrigerant demand from emerging fields like AI liquid cooling will further benefit the market. Overall, the upcoming Spring Festival holiday will lead to reduced trading activity in both domestic and international markets. However, the continued tight supply-demand balance will sustain market sentiment of firm price maintenance, with expectations of sustained high-level performance in the near term.

Fluorinated polymers: Insufficient effective demand, mainstream products maintain pressure stability
This week, the fluoropolymer market faced insufficient effective demand, with mainstream products maintaining stable operations under pressure. On the cost side, upstream raw materials and monomer prices showed weak growth, providing steady cost support for the entire PVDF, PTFE, and FEP product lines but failing to drive price increases. On the supply side, leading manufacturers operated at high capacity rates, with increased maintenance periods around the Spring Festival, which is expected to alleviate supply-demand imbalances through reduced-load production across the industry. On the demand side, traditional sectors such as chemical corrosion protection, automotive and transportation, machinery and industrial manufacturing, and national defense showed stable demand, while emerging fields like new energy, semiconductors, healthcare, aerospace, environmental engineering, AI, and data centers did not exhibit significant explosive growth. By product category, mainstream product quotations remained stable, with factory and downstream procurement prices holding steady at current levels. Short-term market sentiment was cautious, and the fluoropolymer supply chain is expected to maintain this price level around the Spring Festival.
